We are excited about our collaboration with Fondation Paul Gérin-Lajoie, APRETECTRA, RAIL and CREDEL on a biochar project in Benin: Agri-résilience!
Our visit in March was wonderful where we can see the impact that these organisations have on their communities. Together with our local partners, we met with agri-food producers. This helped GECA better understand their needs, challenges, production processes, and waste management practices.
We are now continuing our work on this project. Through pyrolysis, we aim to turn agricultural waste into biocoal, which can be used for cooking and farming. Together, we believe we can bring effective and sustainable solutions to these women communities.
« Agri-résilience » is made possible thanks to the financial support of the Quebec government under the International Climate Cooperation Program, a component of the Plan for a Green Economy 2030.
