More than 500 people from around the world registered for the official webinar launching Biochar: Fueling a New Economy in the Developing World, edited by Dr. Sara de Jesus Duarte and Dr. Patrick Atanasije Pineda. Organized by the Minnesota Biochar Initiative (MNBI), the event brought together several contributing authors to discuss biochar’s role in climate action, carbon removal, sustainable agriculture, and economic development.
GECA Environnement was proud to be among the contributors. Dr. Suzanne Allaire, Founder and CEO of GECA, presented highlights from her chapter, “Developing Biochar Carbon Credit Projects: A Simplified Guide,”providing practical guidance on developing biochar carbon credit projects, certification pathways, and carbon market opportunities.
The strong international participation reflects the growing global interest in biochar and its potential to support climate solutions, sustainable development, and a circular economy.
